Happy New Year (of the Wood Goat)

Bring on the New Year!  As I said in an earlier post, 2015 is an "8" vibration year. It's also the year of the wood goat. You can read more about that here: Overall, things should go more smoothly for those who had a trying year in 2014. (Count me among you!), so here's hoping the predictions are on the mark. Truth told, I haven't had a really good year since about 2012. Eek, I'm long overdue!

If you're into astrology and tarot, that sort of thing, get thee to YouTube. This is the best time of year to check out all the free, yearly predictions for your sign(s). If you need recommendations on where to start, some of my favorites are Michele Knight, Veerle de Bruyne, Kelley Rosano, and Tarot by Tilly. (No particular order. I love them all.)

I won't be making traditional "resolutions" this year. I set my intentions for the New Year a few months ago, and I've been doing my best to put them into practice. They're working for me, so I'm going to stick with them. You can read about my intentions for 2015 here:

As for celebration plans, I'll be hanging out with the family tonight. We're staying home to watch the ball drop on TV. Then tomorrow, we're going to my parents' house for dinner. In the meantime, I'll be working on the naughty novel - writing. Lots of writing. The story is due very soon, and I need to pick up the pace. Wish me luck!

Until next time, happy wishes! Here's to a blessed 2015. *clinks champagne glasses*

Happy Christmas Eve Eve 2014

Well, it's Christmas Eve-Eve. The guys are watching The Dark Crystal, and I'm preparing to wrap Christmas presents. Tomorrow morning, we're going to my parents' house to celebrate with them, have Christmas dinner, and open presents. As per our family tradition, Christmas morning is spent at home, just hubby, the kids, and me. The kiddos get to open the presents that Santa brought overnight, and we have a smaller Christmas dinner - nothing formal. Of course, Oldest won't be here with us this year; he's still stationed in Bahrain, so it doesn't feel quite the same. Nevertheless, we're trying to make it as fun and memorable as possible for MiniBeast.

With the year almost over, and thank goodness for that, I've started to look toward 2015. Actually, I started looking toward 2015 at the end of October and set my intentions then. I've treated the last few months of 2014 as a kind of warm up period for building new habits. No resolutions for me this year, only intentions. I want to relax, slow my pace, and finish what I start. I want to both live my life and lift my creative energy to a higher vibration. 2014 has been a very dark place for me. I'm ready to shed that old vibe and move on to the next level. No mucking around in what used to be.

For Christmas this year, I wish for personal peace. I wish to tie up loose ends so I can let them go. That all sounds terribly cliche, but when you've been through the fire all year, been smothered under a perpetual dung heap of stress and personal troubles, getting to a place of peace again is pretty much all you can think about. I'll leave it at that.

So off I go to wrap presents, drink more tea, and take some more sinus meds. It's the season for feeling better (hopefully soon!) and dreaming big. However you choose to celebrate, or even if you don't, I wish you peace. ❄❄❄

Holly Days :: Holidays :: Holly Daze

It's the holly-days!  I'm very glad of that because I've been needing a break. Desperately. There has been so much stressful stuff going on lately that there are days I just want to resign myself to never leaving the house again. Seriously, with each new stressful thing that crops up and lands on my shoulders, becoming a shut-in begins to sound better and better. Peaceful, most importantly. Maybe once 2014 is over things will iron themselves out. If not, maybe I should start shopping around for wilderness real estate. You know, so I have a place to run screaming.

The fall semester ended on December 9th, and presently I have a 4.0 gpa. Just think, I need only 48 more credit hours to graduate. (crazed laughter) I planned to attend the spring semester, but I'm presently out of financial aid. It's all good though because I really need to take care of a few things before I dive back into the academic fray. It will likely be summer before I can afford another class, but I'm not too worried about it. In the meantime I've picked up my writing again.

That's it for now. Merry Christmas and Happy Yule. Ooh, now that I think about it, I have a lot of holiday prep to get to - baking, shopping, wrapping. I still haven't bought any presents for hubby. He wants a Keurig, and all the trappings that go with it. Anyway, I digress. Wherever you are, and however you celebrate - I wish you a lovely holiday.

Before I go, today's pic is my Christmas gift from Oldest, who is still stationed in Bahrain. He sent me the kitty cat mug with matching spoon. Sniff, sniff. He knows me so well. I miss the big guy bunches.
