Break out your checkbook, vampire fans! Dracula's Castle in Transylvania is up for sale!
Archduke Dominic Habsburg of the former Romanian royal family has agreed to sell the castle to the right person, under the right circumstances.
The place is expected to fetch over a 100 million. Vlad Tepes, who was (as everyone knows)the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's Dracula, spent only one night in the castle, but there is significant history tied to the house since it's beginnings, when it was built in the 14th century as a fortress to protect against the invading Ottoman Turks.
Sigh. Where's the money tree when you need it?
Nope, I can't top that bit of news. However... I'm gonna tell my piece anyway. :P
When hubby went to Shreveport a few days ago, he stopped at a roadside grill and won a significant amount (okay, significant to us) of cash at a video poker machine. We're not really gambling folks; this is Louisiana, and we've never even been to the casino boats. So when something like that happens, it's pretty cool. Our bills are well in check, so I told him to find himself something fun to spend his money on. He did: he bought the iPods (which have since gone back to the store. (A very long story with too many tech glitches for me to recount!)
I didn't think anything more about it until yesterday. Hubby came in and started asking me about how you order from BLGH . Okay, hubby's asking me about dolls, so of course I got suspicious. I told him you pick out a 'Kid and call the number. He nodded, then reached in his pocket and handed over enough for an adoption fee. *_*
I asked him three or four times if he was absolutively, posilutely sure, and he assured me he's found what he wants and he's covered for it. So now I get to be naughty and order a new doll. *evil squee*
My mom hears this news and sighs, "Dolls... When are you going to grow out of that?"
I might grow old, but I'll never grow up. One day I'll join the ranks of other crazy tracksuit grannies with blue hair that spend half the time spoiling their grandchildren - and spend the other half by going on cruises, playing cards, and drinking mint juleps all day. Yep, I can see that in my future. Doll collection and all...
Happy Tuesday, everyone! ^_^
