Thursday and Stuff

Guess what I found this morning. A gray hair. Yes, you read that right. A gray freaking hair.
I have dyed hair, thanks. And that one hair is sticking it's middle finger in my face (a split end?) and telling me it's more resilient than coloring. What the heck does that mean? On top of that, I'm 31. I don't mind gray hair really, it can be very attractive, but this one is right in my center part and... well, hell, can't the grays wait just a few more years?

As if that wasn't enough to occupy my mind, hubby and I went to meet with the banker today about mom and dad's house. Hubby was a wreck - oh boy, did it show. I figured if it goes, it goes. If it doesn't, we'll keep looking. We signed what we had to in order to get the ball rolling, and the broker is supposed to go take a peek at the house and property today. Tomorrow hubby should be able to call and find out if the loan is a'go. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

We got home and mom and dad were jumping like puppies - mom in person, dad on the phone from work. What happened? Did you get it? What did they say? It's too soon to tell anything, really, and they deflated a bit at that news. But a little patience will go a long way. We still have to get the place surveyed, have a title search, etc. etc. I wish it was as simple as putting down the money and turning over the keys, but there's a bit more to it than that. I am glad they are pleased with the place we found for them, though.

Writing things...

Today I have an interview up at the Midnight Moon Cafe, so drop by and say hello if you can. You'll automatically be entered to win a copy of my latest erotic werewolf romance release, Dominant Territory, which comes out tomorrow. Yay!

Also, the Hump Day Hunk shapeshifter contest is still open. Take a guess at what you think our sexy shifter is, and you could win a free paperback paranormal (chosen at random) from the MMC book vault. The winner will be announced tomorrow, along with the winner chosen from those posting during the interview.

Tomorrow night, June 29th, at 7-9pm CST I'll be having a joint release day chat with the fantabulous Ann Cory in the Cobblestone Press chat room. Drop by and say hello if you can! I'd love to see you there. Also, you may very well walk away with a free download of my new ebook.

Now for today's Thursday Thirteen!
Thirteen Reasons I Now Have Gray Hair...

1. Mortage payments.
2. Ebay battle fatigue.
3. Mini - who is in his terrible twos.
4. Oldest - who is fast approaching 16.
5. My parents - who are going through their second childhood.
6. Hubby - who races around doing so much stuff it makes me dizzy.
7. Chancey the dog - who won't stay out of the neighbor's yard.
8. Deadlines. Writing deadlines.
9. Last minute sprint to finish just about everything I do.
10. That stack of laundry staring at me from the hallway.
11. Rush hour traffic.
12. Years of dealings with school admin.
13. Dial up internet - which apparently crawls along at the speed of FART

That's about it for me today, folks. I need to get around and clear some dishes, do some laundry. Oh yeah, and try to get in a bit of writing. I hope you have a wonderful day. And if by chance things are going kind of rough, take heart - tomorrow is FRIDAY! ^_^ Happy T13!

  1. I dunno, the way the farts fly at my house, I'd say dial up is way slower!

  2. I am only 28 and I find gray hairs in my head all the time! Where do those things come from?

  3. I don't get gray hair.

Occasionally, I get hair that suffers from a peculiar lack of melanin that makes it stand out from the rest. I take those poor souls to the salon right away for artful camouflage. I'm not old, dammit!

  4. ROFLOL, Amelia!

With my comp, click a button and it jumps to the page like a spurred race horse - but the page it gets to is always white, then sort of slowly, creepingly fills up the space. Annoying as heck. Hence the reference. Bwahahaha! Happy T13! ~_^

  5. Hi, Nicki - not sure where they come from, but I wish there was a preventative! ^_^

  6. Arg, that one hair is suffering that peculiar lack of melanin, Annie! Looks like I need to get to a colorist ASAP.

  8. LMAO @ parents having a second childhood. Good for them, I say!

I've been grey since I was 10. Yes, bloody 10! So, I've been colouring my hair for 24 years. Surprised it hasn't fallen out.

    :o)

  9. LOL Aww, Cora. Hubby obsesses over gray hair all the time. He's 26. But his mother gray-ed young. So yea... I sympathize.

I'm so happy for your parents. And for you guys. This looks like it's a wonderful deal. Let's hope it pans through. *crosses fingers*

Again, congrats on the release! :) Hope you're celebrating!
